Last April, the Centrale des syndicats du Québec (Centrale of Unions from Quebec) hosted a week of mobilisation for young education professionals who had the opportunity to meet, reflect and share around the theme of the renewal of the trade union movement. The two day gathering consisted of training sessions, workshops and engagement activities and deepened the role of trade unions as well as a better understanding of the history of the CSQ, its missions, structure, services, operation and commitments.
This week aimed to encourage dialogue among members, encourage young people to join and recruitment to the trade union, the federation and the CSQ. By bringing together some 80 individuals, the union’s new recruitment camp is particularly aimed at young members of the CSQ who represent the future of teacher unionism.
