During the 2019 General Assemblies of the MGEN group, activists showed their support of the International Labour Organization campaign for 2030 Universal Social Protection.
The RES was therefore present throughout the MGEN Group General Assemblies in Rennes. At the Education and Solidarity Network stand, teachers and activist members of the MGEN and partners were able to discover the activities of the RES and issues regarding education, health and solidarity at an international scale. They were also able to test their knowledge of social protection in the world and the links between health and education with a quiz.

100 years of social protection with the ILO: on the path towards universal social protection
In 2019, the’ILO is celebrating its 100th anniversary. Throughout the year, the centenary of the organization presents an opportunity to celebrate the advances made by ILO to extend social protection at global level, specifically through the “100 years of social protection with the ILO: on the path towards universal social protection” campaign.
The campaign is addressed to a large audience with the aim of creating a culture of social protection around the world and momentum for achieving universal social protection. This campaign is firmly rooted in the 2030 United National sustainable development goals and encourages as wide an audience as possible to act to achieve the 1.3 SDG target for universal social protection.
The ILO is also promoting an exhibition called “100 years of social protection”, which highlights the accomplishments and history of the organisation. The exhibition was presented at the General Assembly of the Education and Solidarity Network in Bangkok.

The Global Social Protection Week will be held at ILO headquarters in Geneva in November 2019.
Global Partnership for Universal Social Protection #USP2030
The ILO is a member of the Global Partnership for Universal Social Protection (USP2030) and helps to disseminate their call to action.
USP2030 calls on countries to keep their commitment to universal social protection and to accelerate the development of their social protection systems. All countries are invited to join this partnership.
