Ministro Pistarini International Airport, better known as Ezeiza Airport, is the main airport for international flights to Buenos Aires.
As for domestic flights and many flights from neighboring countries such as Uruguay, Brazil, Chile and Paraguay, they tend to use Aeroparque Jorge Newbery airport, which, although smaller, is more convenient and closer to downtown Buenos Aires.
Recently, several low-cost airlines have begun operating from Palomar airport, located 18 km west of Buenos Aires. This airport serves both domestic and international destinations, expanding travel options for passengers.
Flight information for Ezeiza, Aeroparque or El Palomar airports is available in English and Spanish from Aeropuertos Argentina 2000. Contact : Tél : +5411 5480-6111. Web site : www.aa2000.com.ar

Anyone traveling to Argentina must be in possession of a passport valid for at least six (6) months before its expiry date.
By cab
The trip from Ezeiza airport to downtown Buenos Aires can be made by cab and costs around 15,000 pesos. More information on this website : https://taxiezeiza2000.com.ar
Please note that most cabs do not accept credit cards. There is a Banco La Nacion at Ezeiza international airport where you can change a few dollars into pesos.
By bus
Another alternative is to take the 8 bus (note that there are two n°8 buses, one leaving from Boca and the other from Plaza de Mayo). They leave every 30 minutes and cost around 120 pesos. 60 to 70 minutes of travel time.

By bus
A cheap and efficient way to get around the city. Buses run all day, every day throughout the city. All you have to do is tell the bus driver where you’re going, and he’ll select the right fare for you.
You can also download the TRANSIT application on your smartphone, which allows you to track your route in real time. It can be accessed via this link : https://transitapp.com
By subway
The Buenos Aires metro (known as the Subte in Argentina) is Latin America’s first underground transport network. It is often the fastest way to get around the city, especially to the city center. Trains run every three to six minutes on the six lines connecting the city’s main thoroughfares. Opening hours Monday to Friday are 05:30 to 23:30, 06:00 to 00:00 on Saturdays and 08:00 to 22:30 on Sundays and public holidays (these times may vary slightly).
To access the Buenos Aires metro map, please follow this link: https://www.metrolinemap.com/metro/buenos-aires/
The SUBE ticket can be used to pay for all means of public transport (bus, metro, train) in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area. Discounts are also available for combined transport. It can be purchased and recharged at stands set up in metro and train stations.
Argentina’s official currency is the Argentine peso, or ARS. On signs, you’ll see the dollar sign ($) used.
However, the Argentine peso is currently experiencing significant inflation, making it unstable. It’s not uncommon to walk into a restaurant one day and pay a certain amount for a meal, only to walk in two days later and pay double – or more – for the same meal. Shopkeepers have to constantly adjust their prices to keep pace.
For this reason, we recommend bringing US dollars (or euros if this is not possible) to Argentina and exchanging them in Buenos Aires.
Cash is more widely accepted than other forms of payment. So be sure to carry a few Argentine pesos with you at all times. You can, however, pay by credit card, or even in US dollars, in most stores, hotels and restaurants. In small stores and restaurants, however, cash in Argentine pesos is generally the only form of payment accepted.
If you pay in dollars, most shopkeepers will give you back the difference in pesos – useful for tipping, in particular, which is customary in Argentina for all services..
How to exchange dollars (or even euros) for Argentinian pesos?
You can find an official market where the exchange rate is set by the government, and an informal bureau de change known as the “mercado azul” where exchange rates are determined according to supply and demand (it’s not uncommon for the blue market rate to be significantly higher than the official rate – in fact, it can be double or even more).
To consult today’s exchange rates, please follow this link : https://www.lanacion.com.ar/dolar-hoy/
If you want to take advantage of the “mercado azul” rates, we recommend that you ask your hotel concierge to accompany you to one of the “cuevas” (informal exchange offices), to avoid any scams.
You can also opt for official currency exchange in places like banks or official exchange bureaus, but only the official rate set by the government will be offered. You will need an identity document to exchange money at banks and official exchange offices.
Due to low withdrawal amounts and high fees, we recommend that you only use ATMs as an emergency or last resort method of accessing pesos.
July and August are winter months in Argentina. At the end of July, Buenos Aires generally experiences moderate temperatures and rainfall. Temperatures are often around 16°C, and can drop progressively as the sun goes down, cooling relatively considerably in the evening.
We recommend that you bring warm clothes for the evenings when temperatures drop.
